Retro Ford
When BTB first set eyes on Mick Gregory’s stunning Mk2 Escort they couldn’t believe the level of detail that has gone into it’s preparation by CBC Services. The car features a 2.3 litre Duratec supplied by Cosworth Racing, which had been dyno tested by them at 280bhp. Unfortunately when installed in the car the engine produced only 220bhp. BTB were commissioned to produce an exhaust that would extract the missing power. To add to the challenge the exhaust had to produce no more than 96dB to enable it to be demonstrated and tested at track days. After a remapping session, BTB’s solution (described by Cosworth’s engineer as “a thing of beauty with a good flat and smooth torque curve”) yielded 274bhp and 95.7dB. Spot on.
