    BTB expands!

      BTB Exhausts Newsletter

    In response to increased demand for one off exhausts to be made on exotic racing and performance cars, BTB has expanded its capacity by increasing its workshop space by a third. The new building will be initially used to securely house completed cars that are waiting to be collected. Once some recently acquired machinery is installed the new facilities should double BTB’s throughput and reduce the lead time necessary for booking vehicles in for bespoke work to be done.

    In celebration of BTB’s 27th year in business, BTB have acquired a collection of cars that represent some of the highlights from the various projects that they have been directly involved with over the years. The collection will be housed in a new dust free viewing area adjacent to BTB’s main reception and will be available to view for free during working hours. Cars collected so far include BMW M3 Rally, Nissan R390, Clio V6, Audi RS4, Aston Martin DB7 Volante, BTB’s enthusiastic Managing Director Joe Ellis added “I am very proud and excited that we have had the opportunity to showcase some of the project cars that we have helped to develop, and while the scale of the heritage centre may not be quite as big as we’d like (only 1/43rd the scale actually) it has been great fun trying to track down perfect examples of each significant car from our history.” The official opening of the new facility will be on April 1st.

    Sister company to follow in the footsteps of the greats

    BTB’s sister company Agamemnon has recently moved into the premises once occupied by some illustrious race and rally teams. The building was previously the home of Mark Julyan’s Formula Vauxhall team whose driver Philippe Adams went on to race in Formula 1 for Lotus. They were followed by Peter Thompson Motorsport which became Meritus who are now a huge motorsport success story in Asia and have plans to graduate to F1 in 2016. After PTM and Meritus the unit was used by Steve Black and Norman Gault to start SBG Motorsport which after helping to launch the careers of such rally legends as Alastair McRae and Martin Rowe went on to run works VW and Seat rally teams. Agamemnon will initially be continuing their specialisation in the service, repair and supply of parts for Lotus Carlton’s, but who knows where that might lead...
