    BTB at Autosport Engineering Show

BTB’s stand at Autosport Engineering was a very busy place during the 2 days of the show. Enquiries were made for a number of interesting projects, ranging from the usual new sports racing car projects, to the slightly less usual world of off-shore powerboat exhausts. These days the starry eyed new car engineer no longer has to make do with a sketch on the back of an envelope to illustrate the scheme of his world beating new car design, but instead comes equipped with impressive CAD designs, some of which even include a possible route for the exhaust.

    BTB has updated it’s range

There was also a lot of interest in our display of different collectors, and many visitors asked about the supply of componentry to allow them to make their own manifolds. Therefore BTB has updated it’s range of off the shelf parts and will be increasing the stock levels of bends and collectors in line with demand. Customers who may still be at the conceptual stage of their own exhaust design can request solid models of standard BTB parts to incorporate in to their own CAD packages.

Although there were a good number of new cars making their first public appearances at Autosport International, there was one significant absence. Fortunately the debut of Jaguar’s new XF diesel racing saloon was a closely guarded secret beforehand, so that when a last minute hold-up precluded it’s unveiling at the show, nobody noticed the car’s absence.

V8 powered Lola T70 sports racer tested at more venues

Next on BTB’s motorsport show calendar is Race Retro at Stoneleigh from the 24th-26th February. BTB have switched to a bigger stand (number C46) to allow it to fit on a suitably spectacular customer’s car. The V8 powered Lola T70 sports racer recently had silencers added to its BTB fabricated exhaust manifolds that will allow the car to be tested at a wider range of venues than it’s previously thunderous 120dBA allowed.
